Re: Doshin The Giant for Gamecube

I tried to like Doshin but it seemed a little aimless - maybe I need to give it another chance. Mind you, I think I started playing it around the same time as Smash Bros Melee which rather blew most other Cube games away at the time.

Re: Has anyone ever lost the "love" for a genre?

RPGs for me too. I used to play a lot on the Mega Drive (Shining Force series, Shining in the Darkness etc, even the weaker ones like the D&D game) and FFVII-X to varying degrees but I can't really be arsed with them so much now. I did play through Fire Emblem on the Wii recently but it took a while...

Re: Game's box extra contents

One that sticks in my mind* is the shuriken that was given away with Last Ninja 2 on the Speccy. I would imagine that they wouldn't get away with it these days, even though it was made of soft plastic.

* not literally.

Heh thank you for the kind words. :)

I'm glad I've got plenty of time to prepare for Byte Back as I'm not sure what I'll be bringing yet!

Just replied to the emails confirming that I'll be there (being from Stoke, I've really no excuse!). This'll be my first one as an exhibitor so I'll have to have a rummage and see what I can come with of interest for folk to play on. :)

One idea for the event could be a Geometry Wars 2 competition. Give every attendee one shot at Deadline mode and keep a tally as the day goes on. :)

Filled it in. :)

As I'm in Hartshill, the Stoke area is pretty much ideal for me so I'll be able to organise some kind of stall. No idea what would be on it yet but there's plenty of time to sort something.

I only stayed for a few hours but still enjoyed it. I didn't manage to get near Typing of the Dead at Retro North so it was nice to grab a go of it at this event instead - my typing's a bit all over the shop though we did manage to make it to the penultimate level. Seems more fun playing it on a DC ...

Yesterday I bought Life & Death for the Amiga. Before I bought it I checked that it had the disks and codewheel type gubbins in there but was surprised to see that the game actually comes with a surgical mask too!

Hmm I might have to check that out once they fix it - I hadn't noticed they had a forum before. Plus the work firewall doesn't block it either which is handy.
