Re: Martial art movies
Yeah I know what you mean there, I picked up a few of Sammos films when Hong Kong Legends were releasing them, he's done some quality stuff, I can recommend Millionaires Express, Skinny Tiger Fatty Dragon, Eastern Condors, Close Encounters Of The Spooky Kind and The Odd Couple if you're after some ...

Re: Martial art movies
Watched a decent old skool flick on Friday called Big Rascal . It features Shaw Brothers star Chi Kuan Chun in the leading role, as an ice-cool martial artist trying to make the best of his natural ability. He joins a small-time casino boss as his heavy. The boss contrives to create a situation wher...

Re: Official Feedback Issue 91
Jaw dropped when I peeled back the wrapping and saw the cover. Stunning.
Had a brief flick through, and the Sonic section looks nicely in-depth. The Treasure article was a good read.

Re: Neir - Xbox 360
If you missed loads of side quests, then way less than 12 hours. The weapon creation requires a lot of grinding, which I ignored, as I found a decent one in the course of the game. I would say, though, that half measures are pointless with this game - it's either aim to complete, or don't bother to ...

Re: Neir - Xbox 360
I found it all a bit middle-of-the-road. Not a bad game if you haven't played many jrpgs IMO. The mix of traditional jrpg staples with all sorts of bits and bobs from other genres might jar a bit if you're a jrpg devotee. It's a game that's massively overrated by its fans but at the same time under...

Re: Hot Topic - Best 8-bit memories
The title screen music on Flimbo's Quest on the c64. I remember thinking to myself, 'this is better than most of the stuff in the charts!' I wasn't even too fussed about the game - I found it too hard. So I used to leave the title screen on and just sit there, listening. It's still catchy to this da...

Bought it, played for 30 mins................thrown straight onto ebay maybe i didn't give it a fair chance?............but it just didn't grab me!, good thing was it made me play Yakuza 4 sooner :D First few hours were rather poor with the chod graphics, button mashing gameplay and crap fishing ga...

Re: Neir - Xbox 360
My game of the year last year, for all its faults. It really sucked me in, and when I was spat out at the other end I was dazzled and spellbound. Playing the story+ mode was a revelation - the characters acquired new depth and the context changed completely. Many of the 'bosses' were revealed to hav...

Re: Games that were 'right' first time
I'll echo the ToeJam and Earl shout. Soul Reaver. The second game was uninspired and lacking imagination. The third game was much improved, but still missing some magic. Wasn't Soul Reaver the sequel to Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain?....which I really enjoyed on the PS1 FWIW. Pretty much, yeah. Though...

Re: Tom And Jerry Censored
I think it's a shame that some things are being altered in retrospect. Tom and Jerry is very much of its context and should be approached as such. It opens a Pandora's box of possibilities, where every historical product with a questionable (by modern standards) aspect is fair game for butchering. T...

Re: Martial art movies
I picked up Ong Bak 2 + 3 this weekend despite numerous warnings that they where turd. Well apart from some o.k fights (Nothing on the original) and one or two amazing moments theywere a right let down. Reading around there was alot of trouble around the filming of these but Mr Jaa your stock has d...
